III Taste Of Poland Art Fest - Back to Roots

And last but not least, Polish food to taste and Polish beer to drink!

Everything in one place: 3rd edition of Taste of Poland Art Fest,on 21 May 2016 at Liberty Hall 4pm-11pm, as a part of Polska Eire festival.

 

Taste of Poland!

This year we will bring You back to Polish roots with amazing experience of Live Polish Roots Music by Kapela Maliszów, SuperTonic Orchestra and Tandrindum. Anyone intrested can take a part of dance workshop hosted by Bal Folk Dublin group.

The program shall consist of photography, painting, sculpture, media, hand-crafted wares and luxury items. Exhibiting at the Art Fest shall be numerous artists. The complete list will be introduced soon also performing shall be various professional artists representing a multitude of genres.

Central to the project is Kapela Maliszów (The Malisz Band) a family folk band from Męcina Mała in the Low Beskids, founded by the multi-instrumentalist Jan Malisz, who also acts as the composer of the group's original musical pieces. Most of his compositions are inspired by the music of the Carpathians, but the band's repertoire also includes interpretations of traditional tunes. During the last few years band won many festivals in poland and around the world, In 2015, the band toured Germany , Belgium, Great Biritian. They’ve played at BBC3 Charlie Gilett stage at WOMAD in England, and also at Rainforest Festival in Malaysia. Their album Mazurki Niepojete were in 15th place on Transglobal World Music Chart for 2015. Second Live act will be Dublin based
The Supertonic Orchestra’, a grouping of professional musicians who perform frequently in Dublin. Shows have included the prolific TradFest Temple Bar, Jameson Film Festival and many more. Supertonic has been devoted to the roots of Polish folk infusing their contemporary individual interests in jazz, Balkan music and Klezmer music to create an energetic new sound. This thoroughly unique and modern arrangement provides an energetic and unrivalled experience for the listener.Tandirindum Krakow based folk trio will present Polish folkdance workshops
While the artists exhibit and musicians perform, there will be a screening of documentary pieces from previous editions of Short Wave Polish Fims Festval. Also for all fans of outdoor activities famous Polish climber Adam Bielecki will give a talk about his passion to moutains.
Food Market serve a variety of traditional Polish foods as well as modern fusions. All shall be available at a pocket friendly price, The Bar will offer a variety of Polish Beers and for whole period of event collective of Djs including DJ Aristoteles, Dj Motyla Noga and DJ Nor Dub will play specialy selected Polish tunes from funk,jazz. rock,roots for further encourage the communal and creative atmosphere of the festival, bringing people together.
