The question remains, what is there to raise your against when you live and create in a free country. The main concerns of this generation include the ugliness of the omnipresent consumerism, the lethargic state of the middle classes looking for constant amusement, the emergence of the far-right ideology, Catholic church’s influence on Polish society and many faces of everyday hate be it homophobia, xenophobia or sexism
Personally, I’m equally proud and amazed of the variety and the quality of the material gathered here. The sheer volume of it, reaching nearly 130 tracks, proves there are a lot of good things brewing in Poland at the moment, musically at least. I am hoping this playlist will get you to further investigate Polish sounds, past and current. Perhaps you’ll get to visit Poland in near future to experience the music at firsthand. If not you still have your headphones and this mixtape. Enjoy!
We want you to get into the vibe of the Big Mad Fringe Closing Party on the 25th September 2016 in the Spiegeltent at Merrion Square! So we have asked our friends from No Snobs Allowed to create a special MixTape just for the occasion.
