A Riveting Story of Connection and Consequence
In the heart of Ireland, where the River Barrow once flowed clear and proud, a young woman named Kate stands at a crossroads. Raised on the land and newly armed with knowledge from agricultural college, she begins to question the old ways—especially those of her neighbor, "Slurry" Murray, whose careless farming practices are choking the river with pollution.
While her boyfriend Ogie remains blissfully content fishing and swimming, and the local doctor—a once-avid angler—grieves the river’s slow death, Kate begins to hear something deeper: the voice of the river itself. One night, the River Barrow cries out through a dying goddess, poisoned and betrayed. As Kate is drawn into a haunting realization—that the river and its people are inextricably linked—she must confront an uncomfortable truth: the land she loves is being destroyed by those who claim to cherish it.
