Experience gripping historical drama at one of Dublin’s most intimate venues
Dublin theatre lovers, take note — Friends in Berlin, the critically acclaimed play by Felix Brown, is now showing at the Viking Theatre until 20 September 2025. Following a sold-out run at Bewley’s Café Theatre, this powerful production has found a new home in one of Dublin’s most beloved independent venues.
What’s the Story?
Based on the true story of William Patrick Hitler, nephew of Adolf Hitler, the play explores identity, loyalty, and survival in 1930s Berlin. Raised in Liverpool by his Irish mother, William travels to Germany to reconnect with his estranged father. There, he meets Tom, a British Embassy official, and their friendship is tested by a dark secret that could change everything.
