The Liberties Festival is delighted to host this ‘in conversation’ with fiddle players Liam O'Connor and Aoife Ní Bhriain alongside author and piper Seán Potts, to discuss the Irish Traditional Music Archive's (itma.ie) publications on the legendary Liberties' fiddler Tommie Potts, The Sorrowful and the Great and The Unbroken Music of Heaven. Tommie's life and music will feature in the discussion along with audio-visual inserts and a performance of some of Potts's most famous pieces as transcribed by Aoife Ní Bhriain. Seán Potts is an accomplished uilleann piper, author, and Director of Creative Development at the Irish Traditional Music Archive; he is the grandnephew of Tommie Potts. Liam O'Connor is a fiddle player, lecturer, and Director of the Irish Traditional Music Archive since 2019. Aoife Ní Bhriain is an internationally acclaimed fiddle player, widely recognised as one of the finest exponents of the music of Tommie Potts.
