About the show
THE WITNESS tells the story of Joey "the Lips" O'Callaghan, the youngest person ever placed in witness protection in Ireland. Rex Ryan adapted Nicola Tallant's best-selling book for the stage, directs the production and plays Joey. It's billed as a "high intensity shotgun blast of a show".
Tallant's Crime World podcast has become one of Europe's biggest true-crime podcasts. Ryan's nominations include Best Actor in Ireland from Broadway World (twice) and Best Actor at the Richard Harris Film Festival. He also created The Monk, which sold out the Ambassador Theatre in February 2026.
