About the concert
The Mystery Ensemble brings Howard Shore’s iconic soundtrack to life in a concert built to transport the audience into the heart of Tolkien’s universe — the world of elves, hobbits and dwarves at the centre of Peter Jackson’s films. Shore, a three-time Academy Award winner, wrote music that shaped the very essence of the trilogy, and the ensemble’s musicians perform its stirring, deeply emotional compositions in a church setting: “a chamber hall, the authentic sound of motifs from the soundtracks”, as the ensemble puts it.
