Solo show The Kiss returns to Viking Theatre, Dublin – 30 Mar–11 Apr 2026

What’s the event about?

The Kiss is a gripping one-man drama by Jimmy Murphy that follows Eddie, a man with big dreams whose life with his partner Val is suddenly turned upside down. The couple are about to fulfil their lifelong ambition of opening a pub – cheekily named “Val’s Steak and Suds” – when one night a single, unexpected kiss changes everything forever. This poignant story explores how one moment can alter the course of a life, in the most unimaginable way.

What to expect

After captivating audiences in previous sold-out runs (Viking Theatre in 2024 and Bewley’s Café Theatre in 2025), The Kiss returns to the Viking by popular demand. Actor Luke Griffin delivers a tour-de-force solo performance as Eddie, under the direction of Lee Coffey. The play has earned rave five-star reviews from critics: The Arts Review praised its “first-class” script and impeccable direction, while The Reviews Hub hailed it as a “one-man tour-de-force” with a performance to remember. Expect an intense, intimate theatre experience from this extraordinary one-act piece – the kind of show that will stay with you long after the lights go down.
